  • BBC Learning English pronunciation tips
  • Includes videos and recordings and quizzes that introduce the sounds of English, features of connected speech and stress and intonation exercises. It also has a phonemic chart that you can download and use to practise listening to sounds.

  • A webcast that features learners and teachers talking about ways to improve speaking skills including pronunciation issues such as stress, intonation and use of connected speech features.

  • Cambridge English online
  • A site that includes a wide range of pronunciation activities, games and tests.

  • Ship or sheep
  • Minimal pairs practice including practice sentences and dialogues.

  • SpokenSkills Learning Lab
  • Listen to sentences using particular sounds and practise saying them. It also allows you to record yourself and compare your pronunciation to the model.

  • Simple English
  • Short news items and sections from the news. Allows you to listen to short segments of speech and repeat them. Useful for mimicking stress and intonation.

  • Many things pronunciation pages
  • Simple minimal pairs practise using US English pronunciation.
